Instructor:
Gary Lucks, J.D., CPEA, is a principal attorney and scientist with Beyond Compliance LLC, where he advises clients on multimedia environmental management systems (EMS) and environmental compliance. Lucks specializes in environmental compliance auditing, compliance management systems (CMS), compliance counseling, EMS, environmental training, environmental permitting, greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory and reduction, and pollution prevention.

Study federal, state, and local environmental regulations from the perspective of permitting and operational compliance. You get an overview of the key program elements that environmental managers, regulators, and consultants need to know. Discussions cover environmental permitting and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), industrial operations and compliance auditing, reporting obligations and cleanup responsibilities, and other programs necessary for a complete understanding of the multimedia environmental regulatory framework in California.
Discussions cover: environmental permitting and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA); industrial operations and compliance auditing; reporting obligations and cleanup responsibilities; and other programs necessary for a complete understanding of the multimedia environmental regulatory framework in California. Additional "beyond compliance" approaches involving performance-based sustainability and ISO 14000 are also addressed.
